Switch model:IE-2000
I'm trying to upload a newer version of IOS using TFTP, but I'm smidge short on space in flash. Searching the forum I think I can most delete of the below files. Can anyone confirm this for me?
Inside the directory ie2000-unversallk9-mkz.152-4.ea5 I have:
controlfpga.bin (delete?)
EDSCollection.gz (delete?)
info(delete?)
Cisco_IE2000_GSD.zip(delete?)
HTML(delete?)
ie2000-universalk9-mz.152-4.ea5.bin (where i pointed the current boot so i want to keep this in case i screw something up swaping)

1) as long as the switch is running, you can delete all images/image-directories to create space.
but be sure to download a new image (from tftp) before the switch reboots.
(btw the IE2000 has an SD-card slot you can use for recovery)
2) yes you can copy/move the .bin file to the root-directory to keep a functional IOS-version
if you do not use the html inteface, you only need the .bin file in flash.
3) the .GSD file is needed if you use Profinet on your network
PROFINET devices are integrated by using a general station description (GSD)
if not, you can safely remove this file
4) the archive download-sw command has options to
- replace the current version with the dowloaded
- extract only the image from the .tar file
- etc

Thanks! I was able to delete everything but html in root, the switch wouldn't let me for some reason or another.
I should have enough space to upload the new image.

Stop this practice of "copying" the BIN file because it is not best practice.

So what's the best practice then? An IE-2000 does not accept commands that start with "request" or "software" as in other models.
What is the best practice?

Download the TAR file and use the following command:
archive download-sw [/no-reboot] tftp://<TFTP IP ADDRESS>/<IOS FILENAME>.tar
