Looking for a throughput testing solution on the 9K's similar to using ttcp on previous IOS routers.  Has anyone tried installing IPerf on IOS XE?  or some other solution.

You could create a container with Linux/IPerf on it and run it in IOS-XE or I have heard that you can install some packages in the Guestshell on-box.

Thanks, i'm going to try and get a linux .ova installed and let you know how it goes.

Got this running using guest shell and iperf. However with the limitation being that guestshell only has access to the managament port on the 9300 Not useful as a network testing tool since i'm trying to test my network not my management network. Thanks for the direction though.

Can you confirm how you got this working?

It's been a year and after finding that it would only work on the MGMT interface it was useless to me.  I believe I followed the links to install a linux ova in guestshell and then downloaded iperf from the website and installed it with whatever package manager the Linux OS supported.  Sorry I don't have step by step instructions, but I believe I just used the post marked solution and the links inside it.

After some time searching for the same, I finally found DEVNET-1695 session and successfully configured iperf3 on ASR router with 17.3 version

link to presentation is https://www.ciscolive.com/c/dam/r/ciscolive/us/docs/2018/pdf/DEVNET-1695.pdf

really helpful, worked on 1st time (contrary to many other configurations I previously found)

Hope that helps some other people coming here

Hi, link no longer works.

If you have the PDF can you share it?

Thanks.
