I had an oops with a recent code upgrade on our 4510R+E Sup7 routers. I successfully upgraded from an older crypto version of code to the latest non-crypto. When trying to correct this (as no one should want to use telnet for remote access rather than ssh), I ran in to the following:
Feb 28 09:11:36: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-2-IOS_VERSION_CHECK_FAIL: IOS version mismatch. Active supervisor version is 15.1(2)SG (cat4500e-UNIVERSAL-M). Standby supervisor version is 15.1(2)SG (cat4500e-UNIVERSALK9-M). Redundancy feature may not work as expected.
The standby supervisor stays at "STANDBY COLD", and continuing the upgrade will require a service outage. Very dissappointing, since it's the exact same rev of code, just changing from universal-m to universalk9-m.

I believe for ISSU you can't go between feature sets (ip base to ip services etc) and this includes crypto versus non crypto. Same is true on 6500.
