We have a cisco switch (WS-C3850-12S) that is used to connect Dell servers with LC type fiber cable.
We recently purchased a new physical server with the Broadcom 57412 Dual Port 10Gbe SFP+ Adapter card.
Our concern is that the fiber connection is down to the switch.
When I check the switch port I found the switch port type is 1000Base-T.
Currently, we don't have any NM modules for 10G NIC.
Can we use Finisar FTLF8528P3BNV-EM to connect to the cisco switch?
Also, can we connect the Broadcom 10Gbe NIC into the cisco C3850-12S?
If we want to use the Broadcom 10Gbe NIC to connect to the cisco switch, what can we do?

Hi,
Also, can we connect the Broadcom 10Gbe NIC into the cisco C3850-12S?
No, the C3850-12S switch comes with 12 SFP (1Gig) ports only. So, you can't connect a 10Gig server to this switch.
So, you need a switch that supports 10Gig ports.

If you need a fiber switch. You can use
SX350X-24F |
20x 10G SFP+ |
here is the datasheet for more info:

If you like your exiting switch to support 10GB, you need to order NM Module to connect 10GB SFP
here is the module information - it supports 2 ports. (this is module only, you need to order SFP separately, suggest to order 10GB-SR).
