Cannot log into Cisco 2800 router. Please help!

Please help. I can't log into our 2800 router. I tried the using cisco for the username and password, but it doesn't work. How can I tackle this? Is there a way to reset the username and password?

no username cisco

Replace <myuser> and <mypassword> with the username and password you want to use

I followed the procedure in the link above. The procedure states that you cannot re-use the encrypted passwords. Is there a way that I can use the same passwords?

I am having the same issue today. I changed teh configuration but didn't change the username and password. so I am stuck. I am not close to the system so I could not try but someone sent me the following message:

You can do password recovery.

Thanks for all your help guys! I went through both procedures and it didn't work. I kept getting the same banner and prompt below. I ended up doing a write erase and started fresh.
