Hi all
We have a an MPLS connection to one of our sites, we can send large pings to any windows server, apart from one of the hpux servers, we can send pings of size 1372 bytes to it but no more, if we try larger they fail.
Would this be an issue on the server? Could the server be setting the DF bit in all its packets ?
cheers

Hello Carl,
If you can able to ping with more than 1500 bytes to some windows servers that means jumbo frames are enabled in WAN circiut.
If only HP UX servers are not accepting jumbo frame then may required to enable Jumbo frame at HP UX NIC end.
Have a look on the below link for reference. Jumbo frame enablement in HP UX
Hope it Helps..

Hi
Are you sure it means jumbo frames are enabled? as normally they will be allowed as they will just be fragmented.

Agree with your point that it should performs fragmentation , May be some OS specific they need to allow MAX MTU setting at NIC level.
Check the link which i have shared in my earlier post, that shows it requires to be enabled in HP UX platform.
Hope it Helps..
