Cant delete vlan 3 on Layer 2 switch

Hi Techs,

Is a 2924XL switch. (yes I know it is a bit old but does its job)

Have used conf t . no switchport access fa....Removed port from vlan.

Exited. 

Then vlan database. No vlan 3

Exited.

Then wr.

Power cycled switch. Done sh run cnfg but vlan 3 still shows.

I login as admin on the switch

Any ideas are appreciated.

check if that's VLAN still lives in the config 

#show run | i vlan 3 or #show run | i vlan3

Then, try no statement 

Switch(config)# no vlan 3

or

Switch(config)# no interface vlan 3
