Cat9K stacking - mixed stack options

Hi all,

For C9K stacking, i'm aware of this:

  • Full stack 9300x: 1Tb
  • Full stack 9300: 480Gbps
  • Full stack 9300L: 320Gbps
  • Mixed 9300 + 9300X: yes, but stack speed will be 480Gbps

  • Full stack 9200: 160Gbps
  • Full stack 9200L: 80 Gbps
  • Mixed 9200/9200L stacking is not supported

But, can you mix 9300's and 9300L's?

and if so, would that support adding a 9300X to the mix?

1.  The entire stack must be "all-in":  All "L" or "non L".  Cannot be both.

2.  The entire stack must boot into Bundle Mode or Install Mode (not both)

Thanks Leo, clear.

It's different with -X models apparently, and we'll soon see new models X coming from Cisco.

9300X, when stacked with another 9300X, supports a theoretical stacking bandwidth of 1 Tbps.

If a 9300X is stacked to a 9300, the stacking bandwidth drops down to 480 Gbps.
