Catalyst 1000 Switch Replacement

We have Catalyst 1000 switches at many of our locations.  For new locations, we are no longer able to install this model because it is EOS.  I found that the C1200 or C1300 switch are recommended as replacement models, but unfortunately they do not support per-command authorization which is one of our requirements.  We could use the C9200 switch, but it seems overkill to me for small sites that only need basic switching with only a few clients, and it is more expensive.  I can't find a suitable replacement for the C1000.  Can someone recommend a replacement model for the C1000 other than the C1200, C1300, or C9200?

Regardless what Cisco says, "Catalyst" 1200/1300 are not the real replacement for the Catalyst 1000. 

"Catalyst" 1200/1300 is actually the CBS 450 that got "promoted" to Catalyst range because the Catalyst 1000 is not going to have any replacement.  1200/1300 do not run on "classic" IOS, instead this range runs on a special "hybrid" Linux OS. 

In regards to the question of "what replaces the Catalyst 1000", the answer is NONE.  Not the "Catalyst" 1200/1300.  Not the Catalyst 9200/9300. 

There is no replacement of the Catalyst 1000 (with classic IOS) and there will be none in the future. 

The experience of some of the people who have deployed the 1200/1300 are a mixed bag.  Some like it (or have no bad comments about it) and some regretted it.  The simpler the configuration, the better experience.  For example, this switch is purely a layer 2 switch and requires frequent reboots.  Do not make any attempts to push the 1200/1300 to operate >1 year without a cold reboot (pull the power cable and wait for 35-45 seconds) because things will get "interesting".

This is a bit upsetting because it means I have no similar switch to deploy like the C1000.  So my only option is the C9200, because it is the lowest end switch that has classic IOS with all the features we need.  Thanks for your answer!

Catalyst 9k switches are not "classic" IOS.  Catalyst 9k switches run on IOS-XE.  

Compared to the Catalyst 1000, the Cat 9k is an over-engineered layer 2/layer 3 switch with a cost to baulk on.
