Hi,

Could you please provide the "show logging" output. That will tell us what exactly happened. Additionally did you see any crashinfo file during the time of issue?

Regards

Naresh M

I am not clear what the issue is. The title of the post suggests that it is not loading the IOS. But the partial output of the boot process does not show an error that I can detect. Can you clarify what the issue is? Perhaps a more complete set of the messages during the boot process would help?

HTH

Rick

Hi Richard,
Thanks for your comment.
I had tried uploaded image of flash thru xmodem and its completed the
initialization and I was able to access the CLI which made it save to the
configutaion to NVRAM( applied command copy running-config startup-config).
But unfortunately after I issued "reload" which normaly after the hardware
bootsup I can access the CLI but I does not, It came back again in its
previous problem.
Please see below for the statement with... " 00:00:17: %SNMP-5-COLDSTART:
SNMP agent on host VSAT is undergoing a cold start", after its
hanged /stays in there.

Btw, I found this switch on our company stock room and took it for practice
on my preparation taking cert. exam.

Hi Naresh,
After I loaded flash image thru xmodem procedure, I was able to access the CLI and made some basic cosmetics on the switch configuration. Save the config in NVRAM but after I issued "reload" it came back to its previous problem.
Please see below on the boot process which stops with last statement of "00:00:17: %SNMP-5-COLDSTART: SNMP agent on host VSAT is undergoing a cold start":

is this from Console window or Telnet window? if this is from telnet, Connect via Console to switch;
there are steps to boot to switch mode (aka Rommon mode) and check flash and files or set switch to skip config on boot. If I find instructions , i will post it here (this is old switch and cisco removes older instructions)

Hi Martin,
Yes, its thru console port on switch.
