Catalyst 2960G WS-C2960G-24TC-L IOS versions.

I know this is a relatively old switch and went end-of-support July 2017, however I was wondering which IOS flavour it runs as it no longer appears on the software download page on CCO.  The release notes for the last release for the 2960 series (15.0.2-SE11) list the 2960, 2960G, 2960S and 2960-Plus switches as supported hardware.  If you look in the 2960-Plus section 15.2(7)E7 is the latest release.  The filenames for the 2960 and 2960-Plus are both 'c2960-lanbasek9-ms.XXX-X.XX.tar' so I was wondering whether the later image works on the older switches - i.e. can I update a WS-C2960G-24TC-L to 15.2(7)E7 or is 15.0(2)SE11 the latest it will run?

Went through this exercise a few months ago and it won't work.  The 2960G will go into ROMMON because some of the chips will not support 15.2(7) train.  

Go with 12.2(55)SE or 15.0(2)SE train.

Thanks for the reply Leo.  I thought someone would have attempted this.  I'll stick 15.0(2)SE11 on it.
