Hello,
Please I do need assistance...
I am working on a catalyst 3850 switch, I plugged a cisco 10G sfp+ SR module to an interface and connected it to a firewall.
The port light alternates between orange and green color, though the orange color stays abit longer then switches to green... the transition from green back to orange is very swift more like something is being triggered.
When I issue the command "show interface te1/0/1 switchport " the response is Disabled.
I have issued debug command to monitor the interface and see if stp is disabling the port, but it doesn't say...
Please, how do I solve this, I need help

Post the complete output to the following command:
sh interface status err

TESLA-CORE-SW#sh int status err
Port Name Status Reason Err-disabled Vlans
Te1/0/9 TRUNK TO HYUNDAI-S err-disabled gbic-invalid
Note: that's not the interface I am troubleshooting. I am troubleshooting te1/0/1 interface

So I issued :
Sh int te1/0/1 status err
And the status is connected

>....err-disabled gbic-invalid
Are you using a Cisco supported SFP according to https://tmgmatrix.cisco.com/

Yes i am... the error you highlighted in red is not the output from the interface i am troubleshooting...
But yes i am using a Cisco sfp-10G-SR transceiver

- What is the output then for 'your problematic interface' when troubleshooting ?

friend
FW not support autonego
so disable it and hardcoded the speed and duplex

i did this as well, both on the firewall and on the switch. though on the 3850 switch, the duplex command does not work. But i hardcoded the speed. The interface is 10gb data rate and hence it uses full duplex by default.

Note: that's not the interface I am troubleshooting. I am troubleshooting te1/0/1 interface <<- T1/0/9 is other issue now issue of te1/0/1 is speed duplex

i have configured this, still same issue...And the thing i have verified using various commands, and the interface seems fine. Also to note, the port is a routed port.

It router port so
Show interface x/x switchport sure will be disable.
Show ip interface x/x
Check status

- If you talk about the port being a routed port , then check the logs on the switch just after a connection attempt is done. And last but not least : also check the logs on the firewall related to networking or else global!!

Besides debug check logs on the switch too after this pattern stops
