Hi,
I want to build a stack of 6 x 3850 switches. I don't want switches to have number 5 and 6. So my stack switches will be numberd as 1,2,3,4,7 & 8.
Is that going to case any issue? I wanto it t be stable across reload and any addition or deletion of swictehs. Thanks!

Before connecting the new switches to the stack, pre-provision them first.
config t
switch 7 provision <MODEL number>
switch 8 provision <MODEL number>
end
Connect the switches to the stack and power up the new switches one-by-one and in order.

Thanks Leo. It means I should not have any issue if I don't use switch number 5 & 6 in the stack.

Hi,
Should not be an issue. You can number them however you want as long as they are between 1-9.
