Can anyone confirm the supported number of VLANs (not VLAN IDs) for Catalyst 3850 LAN Base, IP Base and IP Services?
The Data Sheets says: 255 VLANs for LAN Base and 1k for IP Base
At the same time Catalyst 3650 supports, 255 for LAN Base and 4094 for IP Base (according to Data Sheet).
The config guides for both 3850 and 3650 say that 4k VLANs are supported (not VLAN IDs, the VLAN IDs for both is 4k).

It's not the number of VLANs that really matters
but the max. number of STP instances (e. g. 128 in many switches)

Hello Peter
you said the number of VLANs is not important but if you are using PVST+ or RPVST then you have the same amount of instances as VLANs then VLAN amount matters. right?
