The "web ui only" software upgrade in the Catalyst CCP GUI does not work (v1.8.2) and earlier. It seems to puts the TAR file onto the switch ok and untars it ok into a folder but does not activate it. you can find the folder in the flash: drive as <something>.new
e.g.
flash:/c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-7.E2/html.new
or
flash:CCP-CATALYST.new
However the "ip http path" statement does not get updated and continues to point to the previous version.
e.g.
ip http path flash:CCP-CATALYST
is the location and path statement for the current version of CCP, when the GUI update is run there is no obvious change except for the appearance of a new folder called:-
flash:CCP-CATALYST.new
which contains the new software, but it does not get activated. a copy command can fix this but why does the gui update not work?
The fix is to rename the current web gui folder and then ren the new one.
rename flash:CCP-CATALYST flash:CCP-CATALYST.old
rename flashCCP-CATALYST.new flash:CCP-CATALYST
Where am I going wrong. I am sure this process should be much simpler?
