Catalyst Instant Access

I am planing for a new network for my new office. I find there is a solution named Cisco Catalyst Instant Access.

I need to work it with Cisco Catalyst 6880-X core switch & Cisco Catalyst 6800ia access switch.

I am planing to inter connect Core switch and Access Switch through Fiber (SFP+) and also some of our devises are only having Ethernet port.

As I understood  6880-X can add extra modules. Fiber (SFP,SFP+), Gigabit Ethernet (POE,POE+).

Here is my doubt.

1. Can I add 3 modules as SFP+ and the 1 as POE? Then it will work with out using converter.

2. Can I use Cisco Catalyst 2960-X as Access Switch instead of 6800ia or any another model (with L2, 48 port PoE+, Fiber Up link)

Can anybody help me in this?

Please talk to your local Cisco SE/AM.  As far as I'm aware, Cisco IA technology and feature is not doing great and will not have a future.

IAs are sort of the Catalyst version of the Nexus FEXs.

If I recall correctly, one feature they have, that the FEXs do not, you can stack IAs.

Although they are really intended for edge hosts, I believe they may support other infrastructure devices off their ports.

Yes, you can connect "ordinary" L2 switches to a 6880s.  The principal advantage of an IA, they appear as line card ports on the controlling Catalyst.  With the latest IOS releases, I also believe you can support something like 2,000 edge ports using IAs.

PS:

I would recommend you carefully note Leo's suggestion.
