Recently my company has bought 4 new cisco switches. 2 CBS250-48P-4G's and 2 CBS350-48P-4G's. In the past we have just used RJ-45 copper connections to daisy-chain the switches together for interconnectivity but with these new switches we were hoping to switch over to fiber or DAC's between the switches. I have found some cheap 1Gig DAC's that we are planning to use which say they are Cisco compatible but I am not seeing any compatibility listed for DAC's in cisco's documentation. The cheap DAC's are here: https://www.fs.com/products/156921.html . I have read through the Cisco Business 250 Series Switches Administration Guide and found that "The following XG passive cables (Twinax/DAC) are supported: Cisco SFP-H10G-CU1M, Cisco SFP-H10G-CU3M, Cisco SFP-H10G-CU5M." The issue I'm having is that all 3 of these DAC's appear to either be 10Gig which our switches don't support or they are SFP+ DAC's in which all of our ports are base SFP.
If I could get any advice as to if these DAC's are actually compatible, that would be fantastic. Thank you.
