Hi All
After recently checking cdp neighbors on our LAN switch (3750-e) I noticed amongst the recognised neighbors (connected switches and IP Phones) that there is an entry for a client device (laptop) connected to a particular interface which shows:
MSI on Wi Local Area Connection
Any ideas ? I'm presuming it maybe something to do with voice ?

Hi Mick,
The reason you are seeing the PC in your output for "show cdp neighbor" is because the laptop has Media Services interface installed and you are running some Cisco UC application such as jabber or webex or some 3 rd party endpoint. It is usually used for voice/data/video.

OK thanks Rupesh - I guess this would be a normal occurence then? - we normally just see the IP Phones as neighbors - this is the 1st I've seen with an actual client laptop.
