Hello @Mark-Quinton
With C9500-X you could choose FAN model according to tje air flow direction you want.
AS concerned C9500, FAN model support front-to-back air flow !

Hello @Mark-Quinton
I was checking the CISCO CCW tool. Cisco does not list a back-to-front fan tray (e.g., FAN-T4-F) for the C9500-40X-A.
The Cisco Catalyst C9500-40X-A comes with five field-replaceable fan modules (FAN-T4-R), which are designed for front-to-back airflow by default.
Your C9500-40X-A is equipped with a power supply (e.g., PWR-C4-950WAC-R) that also uses front-to-back airflow.
Cisco requires that the airflow direction of the power supplies and fan trays match. If you were to install a back-to-front fan tray (if one existed), you would also need a compatible back-to-front power supply (e.g., PWR-C4-950WAC-F, if available). Mismatched airflow directions will likely cause the switch to shut down or generate errors, as the system polls all components to ensure consistent airflow.

Can I also ask the same query regarding the "9300X-24Y-A" model ??

Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series fan supports airflow from the front and sides to the back.

Airflow
The switch supports port-side and side intake airflow on all 9300 Series SKUs, in which coolant air enters the switch through the sides and ports (cold aisle) and exhausts through the fan and power supply modules in the rear (hot aisle). Refer to the attached link section, Chassis Cooling.
