Change the source of a multicast stream and forward as local

Hello all,

Maybe I'm asking something trivial or dumb, but I'll take my chances..

Consider a router that receives a multicast stream from a remote source (e.g. using a static join).

The router is actually acting as a normal receiver of the stream.

Is it possible somehow to make this router start forwarding this stream as if it was generated on the router itself? The end result would look like the router is the source of the stream. (from the prespective of the end users connected to this router or generaly from the perspective of all downstream devices)

Thanks

George

Hi George

I haven't used it myself, but there is a function called "multicast service reflection".

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/12_4t/12_4t4/mcastsrv.html

Maybe somthing that is suitable for You.
