good day.
i have a Catalyst 3650 that i was going to delete the config file from. and for som reason it was set up previously with the wrong enable password. so i went to ROMMON to delete the config file from there, but then i noticed that flash: was in read only mode and i cant delete the file because of it. so my question is. is there a way to change it to read write, and if so, how? or is there another way i can delete the config file?
switch: delete flash:nvram_config Are you sure you want to delete "flash:nvram_config" (y/n)?y File "flash:nvram_config" not deleted -- read only file system
switch: dir List of filesystems currently registered: xmodem[0]: (read-only) null[1]: (read-write) bs[3]: (read-only) flash[18]: (read-only) tftp[19]: (read-write)

Hi,
If you are not able to copy from usbflash to flash then try with Xmodem recovery option.

Have you tried the following:
rommon 2> dir usbflash0:
I your see your file then proceed with the following.
rommon 3> boot usbflash0: your file name.124-3.bin

I had the same problem with trying to upgrade 3850s. First the *.bin wouldn't copy across, it would time out or something. Then the power went out over the weekend and 2 switches, failed in the copies, wouldn't come up. The *.bin or all *.pkg files were gone out of flash:. Couldn't copy the *.bin back via xmodem, SCP, TFTP, or from USB. Every time I got an error that flash: was Read Only. Even though listing the files in flash (dir flash:) would show RW.
Ended up doing the emergency-install command from *.bin on a USB drive (this puts all the pkg files in flash:). Then had to copy the *.bin from USB to flash:. Then finally when to conf t and updated boot system *.bin. Rebooted and everything came back up with previous config running!
Thanks to those that offered different things to try. Still not sure why this all happened but now I know how to fix it!

Hello,
For a 3850-12S, at the end, what are the final commands and the final method to obtain a real Factory Reset (unboxing) ?
