I've changing the communication method for the Smart Licensing to use cisco transport gateway.
For most of the devices it was working fine after changing the transport method to the address provided in the cisco transport gateway.
config that was used:
call-home
profile "CiscoTAC-1"
active
destination transport-method http
no destination transport-method email
destination address http http://10.20.20.30:8080/Transportgateway/services/DeviceRequestHandler
However, when I enter the same configuration on the cisco C9300-24P with Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 17.03.03 I am getting the below message.
IP address in URL may lead to a failure in server identity check during HTTPs communication. Disabling server identity check by adding "no http secure server-identity-check" under call-home is a workaround, but it is not recommended because it puts device under risk.
Please advise.
