Changing the Subnet Mask of an interface

So, I've had a brain fart. Is there a way to change the subnet mask of an IP address on a router or switch, without doing a 'no ip address?

You can configure the ip address again with new mask without removing the previous ip address.

use ip address XXXXX XXXX(mask) without doing No ip address.

same with the vlan config. you can change vlan ID without even removing first vlan.

Thanks for the information guys. I hate to ask susch a noob question, it's kinda embarrsing. Ever since I've turned 30, i've thrown my back out, shoulder hurts, and no I'm forgetting CCNA stuff lol.
