Hi Mahesh,

As far, I know you do need to reboot it. However, you can load the new IOS any time and reboot it later (may be after hours).

Even you can reload it remotely.

thanks

Hi Mahesh,

You are correct - you can copy the image to the flash and leave it running current image.

It won't ask you to reboot or anything and will run new code only after you change the boot string and reload the device.

Hi Mahesh,

Sorry to respond so late. it was time to go to sleep

yes, as others have already mentioned, you can leave the new IOS on the flash and wait until you have an outage window to reboot.  Remember, if you have multiple images change the boot variable to the image you want to boot from, if not the router boots the fist image on the flash.

Hi Mahesh,

You have about 91Mb left on your flash.  So, you have enough space for the new image.  Also, if you are not using the old IOS (like the first image in the list) you should delete them to make more space.

Hi Reza,

you are always here to help

one more thing.

Currently i just need to copy ios from tftp to flash.

I do not need to reload the router currently.

So once the new IOS is copied it will not ask for reboot right?

Thanks

mahesh

Hi Reza & others,

sorry for late reply.

I was able to load new IOS from TFTP to router without rebooting the router.

Best Regards

MAhesh
