Can you paste a sh version output (Sh tech-support) would be good. (as attachment)

Hi,

Kindly see yr attachment

Sh ver doesnt yield much, meanwhile i will check for any bugs, but can you paste output of a sh tech-support next time. (Last reload of the router was by power off/on and not due to the reboot problem you are having)

Checked the bug toolkit. I cannot see any bugs that would cause this.

As Sankar says, paste the output of sh tech-support, which gives all the available details from the router...

Josef.

Attach is the file for yr ref. Thanks...

Can you wait till another unexpected reboot happens and then immediately do a sh tech-support output from this router. Your current sh tech does not yield much as, the router was restarted by power on

Hi,

Is there any different in figures if do sh tech-support immediately???

Reboots can happen because of a software crash, hardware problem etc. This will be indicated in sh version as well as sh stack. Sometimes troubleshooting such reboots are beyond our capabilities and you will have to contact Cisco TAC. Either ways you need to look at sh tech output after a unexpected reboot.

Hi,

While going through the bug details I found one which says a 1700 router can reload that is

configured with an asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) WAN interface card (WIC) when packets that are 4000 bytes in size are sent.

Although the IOS version which you are using is not affected by this bug.

If you face this more continuously then you can try upgrading the IOS to a higher stable train.

Anyway before acting just send the console error message when the router reloads next and any symptom that can help us finding the reason for the relaod.

Hi Sushil,

Which version of IOS is more stable???

Hi,

You can go with 12.3.14T3 with IP/ADSL feature set. It is the same feature set that you are using.

This IOS requires 16MB Flash and 48MB DRAM

You need to upgrade the DRAM on your rouer as it has a DRAM of 32MBand the required is 48MB.

So you can upgrade it to 12.2.15T16 IP ADSL. Requirement is 8MB Flash and 32MB DRAM.
