Hi,
When i start Cisco 1841 it goes straight into rommon mode displaying
Error : zip decompress failed

Main memory is configured to 64 bit mode with parity disabled
i tried to reload the IOS through TFTP but again the same issue

You can check the image with the "verify"-command. If it is damaged, load it again from cisco.com and upload that to the router.

Does verify works in rommon mode ?

Of course you are right. You need a running IOS to verify it ... Then I would directly download a new image from Cisco and use that.

Ok. now i downloaded an image from Cisco and uploaded it through tftp ...now i m getting the error
Error : compressed image checksum is incorrect 0x1B995D7C
Expected a checksum of 0xDF8E357B
and then gets into rommon automatically

This error seem to be as "hardware problem"
The same kind of error i had came across in 2800 series and the resolution would be replacing the router

That really seems serious. If you have this router under support, I would open a TAC-case.
