Find another IOS.  The current IOS you are using is probably corrupted or has issues.

You could also try removing all HWIC or NME modules.

Hi,  thank you for your reply.

Unfortunetly I am very new to Cisco and don't know how to do that at all.

Do you mind expaining more?

Power down the router.

Remove all modules from the router and boot again.

IF the router doesn't crash, then one of the modules is causing the crash.  This is possibly caused by the improper insertion of the module to bad IOS.

ok will try that.

one question if i load another ISO will all my config be gone?

and

Is it possible to load a new ISO direct from the web (seeing that the site is a remote site and i can be there)

If you load a new IOS, your config will remain the same.

The fastest way to load the IOS from your computer to the router is via the router's Compact Flash (CF) card.  If you have a multi-card reader, you can sure use that.

ok, i have another Cisco (same model) that is working can i use that compact flash to copy the ISO from?

and if so would you please be able to tell me how do I copy it?

Use that compact flash to boot this router.

Can you post the entire bootup process please?

Hi, I have tried to boot the Cisco witht the other flash but its not working its incompatible with the platform.

Are there any other sugestions please?

Would i be able to download directly from the internet to the cisco for a new ISO?

Any help would be appreciated I'm really stuck with no way forward.

Hi,

I have been doing some reading, could it be that the IOS is taking up too much space when decompressing?

I am really struggeling with this one.

Any help please?

Error: Unexpected NM Interrupt received from slot: 1

As I've explained earlier.  If your router has Enhanced Network Modules (NME) or High-Speed WAN Interface Cards (HWIC) then remove them.

The error message aboves says the router has an NM installed which is contributing to the crash.

Hi, I have done as you said removed the card bays and tried to boot but still get that error.

Error: Unexpected NM Interrupt received from slot: 1

Hi,

I've noticed that,  *** System received a Software forced crash ***.

This can be caused by a Cisco IOS software image that has actually been corrupted during transfer to the router. In this case, you can load a new image onto the router to resolve the issue.

It can also be caused by faulty memory hardware or by a software bug or DRAM may not appropriate for the current IOS.

Try to upgrade a  IOS from romon mode.Refer the below link for upgrading IOS from Romon mode
