I´m configuring for the first time a 2911 router and I need to connect with a serial RJ-45 cable to router console
I´m using the suggested configuration settings
Speed 9600
Data bits 8
Stop bits 1
Parity none
Flow control none
However I have no success, the connection opens but does nothing, press enter and nothing happens.
I´ve tried with windows hyper terminal and putty. This is the same cable I use to connect to other router without problems,
Am I missing any step?
Thanks!

Hi,
are you sure you're using the correct COM port on your PC ?

Hi,
Try different connnection speeds. Router may have non-default speed configuration for console and that mismatches with your connection.
Kind Regards,

Are you using the Cisco supplied console cable, if not you need to use a rollover cable to make the connection

Hello Mr. Holgado,
Thank you for your question.
However, the Small Business Support Community is limited to Cisco Small Business Products and the 2911 router is ab Enterprise level product.
You might consider netct time to ask this question at Enterprise forum to get a better response.
