Cisco 2960-CG port flashing from green to amber?

FNG - I've got one port that's supposed to be set to auto auto, and the led is flashing green very rapidly. So I'm guessing it's setup right.  And, I've got one port toggling between green and amber.  This port is supposed to be set at 100Mbs and full duplex.  Does this indicate a problem? Or does it indicate the port is set to 100Mbs?  I've only got the two ports in use.

Hi,

STAT
(port status)

Off

No link, or port was administratively shut down.

Green

Link present.

Blinking green

Activity. Port is sending or receiving data.

Alternating green-amber

Link fault. Error frames can affect connectivity, and errors such as excessive collisions, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) errors, and alignment and jabber errors are monitored for a link-fault indication.

Amber

Port is blocked by Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and is not forwarding data.

Note After a port is reconfigured, the port LED can remain amber for up to 30 seconds as STP checks the network topology for possible loops.

Blinking amber

Port is blocked by STP and is not sending or receiving packets.

Hope that help..

Hello,

It means you have error in the link. What is connected to that port? Try to replace its cable.

Masoud

Thanks for the info.
