Cisco 2960 - Packet Corruption

Hi,

Can someone help me please. At my work we need to send a software upgrade to a device over the LAN. When we attempt this using our standard Cisco 2960 switches the upgrade seems to fail, the device is contactable, but the upgrade packets just do not send.

If I reset the switch (remove vlan.dat and config.text) then reapply the same config to the switch then the upgrade will complete. However..... If we leave the switch for a few days and try the upgrade again, then it will fail. If you attempt the same upgrade using a hub, or P2P it works fine.

When investigating using wireshark It looks like the packets are not sending as there is a possible corruption issue.

I have changed the Duplex mode from auto, to full and even half but It doesn't make a difference. I was hoping to be able to change switching mode to cut-through but this is not available on a 2960 switch.

Can anybody help me? I have spoken to our NOC engineers and even they cannot help. We need to deploy this to 1600 seperate sites, all using Cisco 2960 switches.

Thanks,

Paul
