Cisco 3550-F Fusion Switch

Hello,

We are currently using low latency Cisco 3548 Nexus switch and we would like to replace it with 3550-F Fusion switch . We intend to keep the same functionality as 3548 and also having the layer1 functionality . Is it possible the define some ports for conventional switching as 3548 and some port for fastmux  at the same time.

Thanks

Best Regards

I have to say that we dont have any layer 3 traffic on Cisco 3548. There are only some static routes and IGMP definitions.

yes possible as per document :(look at the table max ports)

Thank you for your quick response,

By the way i have another question in my mind;

As a we are familiar with cisco products we intend to prefer cisco again. When i check Cisco layer 1 switch competitor can i see Arista 7130 . They call fastmux as Metamux  and the latency figures are almost the same . But this information has taken place in only a specific document. Almost everywhere they announce that the Arista has 4 ns of layer 1 switching latency performance. I guess its impossible to have this upstream latency

Thanks

Best Regards

that question for Arista community and experts.
