cisco 3650 stack priority

Hello All,

I'm about to install 2 new 3650 switches into stack. So i connected the switch using stack cable and i can see both the switches are ins tack but the priority was default.

Switch#sh switch
Switch/Stack Mac Address : 005d.73d7.3700 - Local Mac Address
Mac persistency wait time: Indefinite
                                             H/W Current
Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State
------------------------------------------------------------
*1 Active 005d.73d7.3700 1 V05 Ready
 2 Standby b4de.3117.9a80 1 V05 Ready

Now i want to change one switch has master and want priority has 15. Now i thought to use 'switch stack-member-number priority new-priority-number' but it was not accepting. we dont have priority option after 'switch stack-member-number'. below is the output. How to change the priority.

Switch(config)#switch 1 ?
provision Configure Switch provision / offline config

My intentions is, i configure my master switch with every thing and just add rack it switch in the rack and connect the stack ports to other switches which is already in t he rack with no config in it. So all other switches will down load the config and the one which i keep will be master

Hi

Try with:

conf t

switch 1 priority 15

write memory

reload

You can identify the MAC address of your switch though the command: show switch, the MAC address is rear of the switch.

Hope it is useful

:-)

Were those switches reloaded after connecting the stack cables?
