Cisco 3750x link dosnt up after cable reconnect

We have stack 4 x 3750X connected with DELL R940 (Win 2016, LACP, Dynamic mode, broadcom bcm5720-2p) with portchannel connection via 2*1 gb copper links.

If we phisicaly disconnect the cable from network adapter (or from sw port) for some time, and reconnect cable again (in the same port, of course), link still in the down state for all time (wait for 1 hour for test, but nothing).

However, some time (and i dont know why), after reconnection the cable, link still up again. Also if link doesnt up, i try to unplug and plug cable again and again, and after 3-10 time link become active.

Workaround now is disable/enable the network interface in Windows side - after that action link is up in a few seconds and work fine.

Our IOS version is 2.2(58)SE2

Portchannel configuration:

interface Port-channel11
description AL11
switchport mode access
switchport nonegotiate
spanning-tree portfast

Interface confiuration:

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/8
description AL11
switchport mode access
switchport nonegotiate
no cdp enable
channel-protocol lacp
channel-group 11 mode active

interface GigabitEthernet2/0/8
description AL11
switchport mode access
switchport nonegotiate
no cdp enable
channel-protocol lacp
channel-group 11 mode active

Is this normal? Is there something I am missing in config for these ports? Any idea how to fix?

P.s. On the another network switches (HP) we'are doesnt have this issue - link is up for 2 seconds in any situation.

Hello,

what  if you change the channel-group mode to 'on' instead of 'active' ?

Hi guys!

Sorry for delay with answer - i need some time for investigation and tests )

1) Update firmware to Version 15.2(4)E6

2) Delete Porchannel conf and recreate it, how to recommend

3) Tryed another setiings from Windows side

And... no result. Link still inactive in 3 of 5 time. And again - if link inactive i unplugg and plug cable again and link go up.

Any idea?

I've never seen a behaviour like this before. So what kind of optics are you using?

There are no optics in this portchannel - only copper!

Tryed another option

lacp rate fast

some result (

Can you post the output to the command "sh interface <PHYSICAL PORTS>"? Don't provide the output from the Etherchannel port.

interface GigabitEthernet3/0/8

description AL12

switchport mode access

switchport nonegotiate

no cdp enable

lacp rate fast

channel-group 12 mode active

interface GigabitEthernet4/0/8

description AL12

switchport mode access

switchport nonegotiate

no cdp enable

lacp rate fast

channel-group 12 mode active

The stack is running a very unstable and very buggy, 12.2(58)SE2. I'd recommend upgrading that.

Updated yesterday at firmware to Version 15.2(4)E6

Hello

first of all do you have the teaming correct in the server?

secondly I see a difference in the physical config of the access ports in the pc as to the pc config itself

try

1)removing the pc

2) defaulting the physical interfaces and shut them down

3) apply the channel-group to the access port thus letting the pc get automatically created

4) on the pc apply the acces port config which will populate the physical access ports

5)enable the physcal access ports

test again

Can upload the video with this problem )

Hi

I found out this link from microsoft regarding port-channel from a Windows server 2016 to a Cisco switch.

Maybe this could help you to fix this issue
