Cisco 4500 redundancy

maybe this is a silly question.

can I use two different supervisors and get full redundancy.

for exemple a Supervisor V-10GE in slot 1 and a Supervisor 6-E in slot 2 ? or both supervisors need to be the same?

my chassis is a 4507R (non-E)

Sup V-10GE and 6-E are almost the same price... so if the redundancy stuff works, i would make more sense to go with the 6-E.

Thanks

No.  There are some things one supervisor engine can do and the other can't/won't-until-you-buy-her-dinner-kinda-deal.

He he he ... I can beat that.  The Sup6 and the newer Sup7 have THE SAME PRICE.  I'd go for Sup7 any day.

Hi,

In roder to run full redundancy both supervsior modules must be the same model and run same IOS version.

Before you go buying those SUP’s, your chassis doesn’t support it…..
