Cisco 4500 redundancy

Hello,

I have two cisco 4500 and I would do the same configuration as is done with the Cisco 6500, the vss. How it works in 4500? How do I make the redundancy / contingency with two switch 4500 to turn a virtual switch. In 6500 works well

If I don´t have this module, there is another way? etherchannel + hsrp?

yes, HSRP, VRRP

Its in the road map but not officially out yet. release notes for the Sup7E doesnt mention about  VSS as yet.

So at the moment FHRP still seems to be the solution for 4k's

Hello Daniel,

Cisco Catalyst 4500E series switches currently do not support virtual-switching technology. Currently this systems can be deployed in Standalone design and for redundancy you should leverage FHRP protocols in multilayer network. You may refer to following design guide for additional info:
