Hi,
We have Cisco 4507-R installed at customer site which got hang twice and became normal after getting booted.
I have analyzed show tech-support for this switch after reboting but not found relevant logs for hang issue,
Attaching here show tech-support for this switch,
confirm us the issue in this case.

You IOS version is outdated (12.2.18-EW), I suggest you to upgrade to at least to 12.2.18-EW7.

And you did.
Unfortunately, "upgrade your IOS" doesn't really go down well to some.
I've got a strange feeling the issue was caused by an OLD IOS plus the switch has been running for years.

Hey,
There are several possible causes for this:
SW ones:
- memory leak
- L2 loop affecting switch resource
- other SW defect
HW:
- some HW problem kicking switch to ROMMON and keeping there thus looking as it freezed
As Guys advised you - upgrade first. If reoccured on the newset IOS - consider replacement.
