Hello,
We are facing issue with highly frequent interface flaps on Cisco 4900M switch only for module WS-X4920-GB-RJ45. Strange thing is no complaint from the users/server teams for any traffic interruption.
Switch: Cisco WS-C4900M
Linecard: WS-X4920-GB-RJ45
IOS image is cat4500e-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG4.bin
There are several other smilar model & linecard/inventory of switches with exactly same IOS image, however there are no issues with them.
Can some please help if this is a bug & possible resolution for this issue.
Thanks.

Hi Nitin,
Please provide elaborate some more information on this :
1) Which interface are getting flap on the device/module? All the interface are only some?
2) What devices are connected to this module?
3) Is this problem with only one module or do you have other module on the same chasis which is facing the similar issue?
4) Kindly share the show tech from the device?

Hello Inayath,
Please find the answers to your queries below:
1) Continuos interface flaps are generated for all the interfaces on one module only (WS-X4920-GB-RJ45)
2) There are several devices connected - BigIP, Cisco ASR 1001, Cisco switches 4900 & 2960, juniper Fw
3) The chasis has several modules, however the issue we are facing is only with one module (WS-X4920-GB-RJ45)
4) Sorry, but i cannot share the show tech output from the device in a public forum due to security/confidentiality resons.
Let me know if you are able to help me with the information proivded above. I am more interested to know if some one else has encountered the similar problem with the same switch model & linecard.
Else I will go ahead & create TAC request for the same.
Regards,
Nitin

Do the following:
1. Command: test cable tdr interface
2. Wait for 61 seconds;
3. Command: sh cable tdr interface
4. Post the output to #3.

Hello All,
Many thanks for your support/suggestions.
To investigate this deeply, we contacted Cisco TAC. After several troubleshooting sessions, one of which also included the replugging of the module 3 linecard, the issue still persisted.
Finally, cisco TAC suggested us to replace the linecard. RMA was raised & linecard was replaced. Afer this there has been several weeks & the interface flaps do not occur again.
Thus the issue has finally resolved after the replacement of linecard module.
Regards,
Nitin
