Hello All,

Can someone verify if this config-register value shown means that the switch will boot up and use the start-up configuration or not?

NUSWRNAS004#sh bootvar

BOOT variable = bootflash:cat4500e-ipbasek9-mz.122-53.SG4.bin,1;

CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist

BOOTLDR variable does not exist

Configuration register is 0x2

Hi,

Should be 0x2102

HTH

Reza,

This value of 0x2 was the default value.  What is the impact if I kept at the default and rebooted the switch after upgrading the IOS?

Adil

Hi Adil,

There should be no impact. As long as it is 0x2 and not any other number, the switch will boot based on your boot system command.

If it is 0x2 (default) and the switch booted fine the first time, than you should be fine.
