I'm aware of the limited number of Cisco switches that currently support Precision Time Protocol (PTP). I have an environment of Catlayst 6500/6800 switches that currently doesn't support PTP - is there a roadmap for introducing this in the 6500/6800s?
The use case is for potentially implementing AES67 (audio-over-IP interoperability) and the need for network switches that support "transparent clocking" - link below explains AES67 and PTP requirements:
