Cisco 6506 VSS new line card insertion

Hi,

I have 6506 VSS switch with the below configuration . I need to insert new line cards in slot 3 of both the chassis . Can you please let me know the configuration procedure for the same and the downtime required  .

can i insert the cards one after the other without any initial configuration like module provision etc...and would there be any problem to the vsl link?

Please be patient.  Some people (like me) a life lives outside work.  I'm here as a VOLUNTEER.  A lot of us are too.  I don't work for Cisco so don't expect me to be on your beck and call.

Your VSS link would be on your Supervisor's 10 Gbps interface, right?  Where is the heartbeat link?

If you want, for example, to insert the card into slot 3, then go ahead and stick it in.  I don't think the 6500 behaves like the 2960S/2960X, 3750, 3650 or 3850 where you can pre-provision the switches and the ports prior to insertion.
