Cisco 6507R+E; SUP-8E failed to detect USB drives

Hi All,

I need your help to understand about 6500 series supported USB drives and or USB drive formats.

Recently I tried to copy the firmware image for SUP-8E from USB for C6507R+E VSS Switch.

But when I check the directory usb0:, no usb were detected.

Is there any specific vendor USB drives are only supported ?

Is there any specific USB formats supported ( NTFS / FAT / FAT32..)

Please provide your suggestions.

Thank you.

Depends on the make and size of the USB stick.  Not all manufacturers and sizes are supported.  I have good success with the Samsung Bar (above).  Don't get anything larger than 16 Gb.

Yes, I beleive only Cisco's are supported.

However, as Leo noted, some other USB sticks may be found to work.
