Cisco 6509 VSS IOS Upgrade (ISSU eFSU and changing featureset?)

Hi all,

I am going to be upgrading a set of Cat 6500’s with Sup 720’s from the following version of software. Notice it is also a change of featureset. And according to the upgrade notes, the eFSU will fail its compatibility check when doing the upgrade… So does this mean I cant do an ISSU or is it just a warning and  I can do a workaround?

From Versjon:        Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-IPSERVICESK9_WAN-M), Version 12.2(33)SXI11, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

To Versjon:         Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-ADVIPSERVICESK9_WAN-M), Version 12.2(33)SXI13, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

So anyone have experience on this?

Hi Simon,

Unfortunately that is not a warning only, the eFSU between different featureset will fail and as an option you would need to schedule a downtime and reload the whole VSS in order to make that change.
