Cisco 6513 Switch module 11 in Power down state

Hi All,

After a power problem at our data centre we find Module 11 of our Cisco 6513 Core Switch in PWR Down state.

Show Module 11 returns: Status: PWRDown

Show Power Status Module 11 returns: OperStatus Off (Module Reset due to an exception or user request).

The command:

Power enable Module 11 was issued and returned the following:

%PM_SCP-SP-1-LCP_FW_ERR: System resetting module 11 to recover from error: Linecard received system exception. Errcode = 2509000001.

%OIR-SP-3-PWRCYCLE: Card in module 11 is being powercycled Öff (Module reset due to exception or user request

%C6KPWR-SP-4-DISABLED: Power to module in slot 11 set off (Module Reset due to exception or user request)

We have restarted the switch twice. The module is currently not passing traffic causing downtime to services.

Kindly assist asap.

Hi,

Could you paste the show version output. Also, please check if there is a crash file associated with this failure. That could be analyzed to understand why the module went down. Does this module have a DFC sub-module? If so, could you check if it contains the crash file.. show dfc#1-bootflash:

We had connected a 48 port switch through a working module to temporarilly restore connections for devices on the affected module. I'll do this by tomorrow and revert. thanks.

Can you move the line card to a different chassis or a different slot to see if it powers up?

I agree with Leo.  Move it to a different slot and test.  If that does not help,  open a  ticket with TAC and RMA the module

We moved the blade to slot 10 but it still didnt work. Gave the following log relating to Module 10 on start.

The power module of the line card has failed (or popped).  Please contact Cisco TAC to get the line card RMA-ed.
