Cisco 9300 losing config after reloading

I am using Cisco 9300 48UXM-E, after configuring when I reload the switch I am losing configuration. Switch is coming as new and when we use command copy start run config is coming back. On my research I understood that config-register is not changing from 0x2142 to 0x2102 after reloading. Can anyone please help me to overcome this issue.

Did you check the configuration for the offending line I've pointed out?

Hi @Pavan.0703,

Two tests:

-Try with the command: S#copy running-config startup-config

-Check the current register of your device

Regards

Would the original poster please post the output of show version. We would like to verify the value of the config register.

I tried copy run start.

But there is no change in config register

Several of us seem to be operating from the assumption that the issue is the value of the config register. There have been several requests to verify what is the value of the config register but so far no information about the content of the config register. Leo has identified another very interesting possibility about the issue. But so far no response to his suggestion either.

The most recent post from the original poster seems to suggest that he believes that doing copy run start should change the value of the config register. I do not have experience with the 9300 switches. But on every Cisco switch with which I do have experience doing copy run start has no effect of changing the config register. You change the value of the config register with a configuration command in global config mode or you change the value in rommon.

Check the config if this command is present:  system ignore startupconfig switch all

Entering the following commands worked for me:

switch (config)# no system ignore startupconfig switch all
switch (config)# switch all config-register 0x102

Copy run start

Reload

switch all config-register 0x102

does not work on a 9300 running 17.3.5 for me

Post the complete output to the following commands:

  1. sh boot
  2. sh romvar

Hi Leo,  I am using 17.6.4 version on my 9300 switch and it also has same symptoms

Post the following output:

  1. dir

  4. sh log

I want to determine if this is due to C.SCve62353 or not
