Cisco 9410 with E License - Secondary Supervisor

A customer is insistent on only ordering a DNA-E bundle ( C9410R-96U-BNDL-E ) of a C9400 and adding a 2nd SUP as a spare, even though I point out that high availability is specific to DNA-A in the datasheet/ordering guide.   https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-9400-series-switches/nb-06-cat9400-swit-ser-cte-en.html

What will happen when they install the 2nd SUP?  Will it work fine except failover? Will it work fine except for testing new IOS? will it go 'out of compliance' and not allow changes after 90 days? Will it work just fine?

Should work just fine but some features such as NSF, GIR, HSRP, Stackwise Virtual or ISSU/eFSU will not be available for the switch if they choose Essentials. 

And depending on their needs/required features, they would not be able to get 100% use from having 2 Supervisors based on the limitations of Essentials vs Advantage.
