Cisco catalyst 2950 problem

We have cisco 2950 catalyst switch .we hv 1 MBps internet connection through modem comming into catalyst switch 2950.but after some time running ok port light gets orange & we loose connectivity.but it runs on 128 kpbs ok. switch is not configure.what is problem ?

Hello,

do you see any errors on the port of the 2950 where the modem is connected to ? Can you post the output of 'show interfaces FastEthernet' of the port in question ?

Hi,

Seema to be a auto-negotiation issue. Check whether the device connected to switch port supports which speed 10/100 and also the duplex full/half. Try to Hardset the speed and duplex on the switch port and the other device port,

which modem you are using pls specify the make and model also paste in the config of your switch.
