Few days ago we have delivered four Cisco catalyst 4900m series switch to our client. Three switches are running well but got problem in one switch. It shows the following error message in a certain time interval. The error message is given below:
May 12 03:58:59.603: %C4K_IOSMODPORTMAN-4-FANTRAYPARTIALFAILURE: A fan or thermistor/s in system fan tray have failed.
May 12 03:59:29.623: %C4K_IOSMODPORTMAN-4-FANTRAYGOOD: Fan tray is okay.
When error message has shown, that time FAN and SYSTEM LED going to RED state and when it is okay then this LED has gone to YALLOW state.
Is it IOS problem or fan tray problem or hardware problem? Now what should need to do?

I suppose you have a warranty contract associated to each product so you just have to send it back for fan replacement.
If not, you can use it this way or replace it by yourself.
