Hello Cisco Community,
I am very new to cisco hardware and have some old gear that I have been tasked with setting up in a closed lab (no internet connection). Does anyone know if the Catalyst 2960-X has an internal clock that is kept by the battery on the internal board? I know I can use NTP but my hope is to use the switch as the NTP master but alas, every time the switch loses power the clock defaults to April 7, 2000. I am trying to figure out if the battery on the board is responsible for the clock (and is thus dead!) or if the switch simply needs to point to an NTP source rather than using the hardware clock.
Thanks in advance!
