Hi, was wondering how folks manage their cisco baseline images.
I mainly have 9200,9300,9500. For example as of right now I have a baseline for 9200 set to16.x.x, if I don't see a fancy feature that I need, I really don't upgrade unless I'm forced to. Question is what do you usually when you get new hardware and the image is a newer train code, example 17.x.x , do you strictly enforce your baseline and downgrade, or have a baseline for each train code?

Hi,
normally i personally use recommended versions with good ratings from cisco. its easy to troubleshoot devices if all devices are in same version. but, good to go with recommended version and keep related baseline which have feature set matching to your environment.
In case of new devices, i am changing OS to recommended version under same main train came with device.
note-always use recommended versions by cisco to maintain stability.

Do not get mistaken with the firmware meant for the 9200/9200L and the rest of the Catalyst 9k switches.
It may "sound" the same but they are not.
