Hello

How you think, is there a big difference between those two certificates?

Networking educational level i mean... i'm not talking about cisco/nokia proprietary commands

To simplify the things, if i pass CCNA exam, should i also pass NRS I exam easily?

Thank you

Hi

CCNA R&S basically is the starting level of the Cisco pyramid, the CCNA exam provides a strong knowledge about the networks, protocols, IP addressing, Technologies, etc, I feel the Cisco study material is great and detailed to really understand how the networks work.

I have not knowledge about Nokia but investigating the topics, it has similar topics than CCNA. You could compare the topics and get an idea.

I'm pretty sure you will pass the Nokia if you take and pass the CCNA first because you will obtain a very very good knowledge.

None certification is easy, so you need to study a lot, I also recommend theory and practice to understand how it works and it is a good point for CCNA because you can practice with Packet Tracer, Real devices, GNS3 o VIRL.

Below you will find the Nokia topics and obviously it could has differences by the command lines.

Course Modules

  • Module 0 - Introduction to Scalable IP Networks
  • Module 1 - Internet and TCP/IP Overview
  • Module 2 - Introduction to 7750 Service Router, 7450 Ethernet Services Switch and Command Line Interface
  • Module 3 - Data Link Overview
  • Module 4 - IP Layer
  • Module 5 - IP Routing
  • Module 6 - Transport Layer
  • Module 7 - Services Overview

Hope it is useful

:-)

In my opinion, Nokia is better than Cisco. I have the two certifications: CCNA and NRS I.

When you go to do a Cisco exam, there is not even a book that covers everything that goes into the exam. The official cisco book is a real robbery, you can read it in full that you will probably suspend the exam. That suggests that Cisco does not want students to approve, just wants to make money.

In the case of Nokia it happens the other way around. There is a book that is great, it is very well written and explained, with many examples, and covers everything that goes into the NRS I exam. The book is this: https://www.amazon.com/Alcatel-Lucent-Scalable-Networks-Self-Study-Guide/dp/0470429062
